2016 Year in review

Reading and painting day

Just a quick check-in today — I need to prepare for a visitor this week, and a short getaway/ writing retreat with the wide at Miners Bay Lodge. Ideally I’ll be able to refer back to this post when I’ve finished one of those stories I’ve been carrying around my head for decades. The big question – how much reading should I bring with me?

Later on tonight, I’m going to the launch/reading for Gods, Memes & Monsters. It’s in the TBR pile, but I’m curious to check it out. Maybe some photos later.

I finally got around to reading Scott Nicolay‘s Noctuidae yesterday. More thoughts on that later. I’m going to read Michael Cisco‘s the Knife Dance tonight. I will say that even on the trade paperback, the production value on this is really high. Eventually reviews will be published on here, I’m just not satisfied with the ones I’ve started, so check back periodically.

I’ve already set aside some time to paint too. I’ll try to post some photos later, because painting time has been scarce and I’d like this blog to be about more than what books I’ve been buying.
