Last night I got to see a band with a few friends play for the first time. They’ve been together a few years now… and playing a few shows. That coincides with the shitty reno time-frame and is why it’s my first time seeing them.

A quick post while I’m working
Just a quick post while I’m working on gaming, painting, blog posts for my French vacation and my trip to Congres Boreal… and being frustrated that renovations are further delayed and I’m going to be stuck in the suburbs until the fall. Ending tomorrow (May 15) afternoon (EST) is the Children of the Fields kickstarter by Crooked Dice games. It’s a good old set of folk horror minis based on the Wicker Man.

Quebec trip
My wife got to attend 3 conferences over a week in Quebec City, and to catch a breather from packing, I got to join her for a long weekend. I don’t get a lot of vacations so hopefully you don’t begrudge me this. Here is the view from the Quebec City airport.

Birthday Week
As an adult, I’ve always tried to minimize my birthday. Not celebrate it, not make an event of it, and most importantly not get stuff I don’t really want but have to be polite about and then figure out what to do with. I don’t really have a choice, though, because my in-laws like to celebrate, and for the last 5 years or so, April has involved a party for 3 birthdays. This year has been mostly awful so far, so it’s a nice distraction for once. Continue reading
