It was a miserable month, during a miserable year, so I don’t have much to say. It took the whole month to sort out things related to the basement, but that still hasn’t started so over a month delayed now. Not sure what’s going on at all.
I was sick over Christmas (and then again the first week of January).
My wife and I exchanged 2 books each the night before. Guess which ones I bought?
Kari Maaren–Weave a Circle Round Her mind is wonderful and strange, which you’d know if you’ve seen her perform music. Here’s a post about why it took so long. It resonated deeply, despite the fact that my mom died suddenly. Part of that was seeing a friend deal with his mother’s sudden onset personality loss/dementia.
Molly Tanzer – Creatures of Will and Temper
Alexey Nikitin – YT
Brian Catling – The Vohr
Neither of us remembered to pick up Cheri DiMaline – The Marrow Thieves, but I’m pretty happy with the recommendations my wife got from wonderful Bakka staff, because I wouldn’t have read these otherwise.
Really, I can’t think of anything else to add. Moose has been sick a lot. Maybe it’s due to piled up things stress, or Gigi trying to eat his food all the time (leading him to overeat due to food insecurity).
Some things positive, some things negative.
